Gautam Jagannath is the leading innovator and founding director of Social Justice Collaborative. He is constantly planning new and interesting projects. He has a sophisticated understanding of non-profit law and knows how to utilize the non-profit organizational form to its highest potential.
Gautam has always been passionate about defense law. He attended Northeastern University School of Law, the nation’s leading public interest law school, with the goal to become a public defender. Noticing the impact of criminal law on low-income immigrants, Gautam was drawn to immigration law during law school. He strongly believes that deportation is punishment and is an inappropriate result of the criminal justice system. He is a professor of constitutional and criminal law.
