Abigail is a fourth year at the University of California, Berkeley majoring in Sociology and minoring in Education. In her free time she loves to write and to explore new places. She currently serves as the Community Service Chair for Hermanas Unidas de UCB Inc., a non-profit predominately Latina organization that works to empower and support Latinas in higher education. Working at Social Justice Collaborative has not only taught her about the immigration legal system, but as someone deeply rooted in her culture, as a first generation student and as a person deeply motivated and inspired by her family, she believes strongly in the work that SJC does. Everyday she is truly inspired by this community’s resilience, their strength, and their perseverance.
She is so thankful to be at SJC and looks forward to continuing her time at SJC to have the opportunity to grow and to learn, while serving the community. She hopes that one day she will be able to realize her dream of attending law school in order to continue her passion for serving and empowering her community in any way that they need.
