Alejandra M. Velasco is a current undergraduate student at the University of California, Berkeley. She is majoring in Legal Studies with a potential double major in Social Welfare. Alejandra’s passion for social justice came about from her family members endeavors. Her family was able to succeed in the low income community through the resources and services provided to them. Thus, Alejandra strives to be an asset to other members of her community. She is a current volunteer at Centro Legal de la Raza. At Centro Legal, she works with attorneys to offer direct legal services to undocumented individuals, people of color, non english speakers, who may be facing wage theft, discrimination, retaliation, etc. Her passion for social justice and experience at Centro Legal has made an impact on her decision to pursue law school.
