Carman Nareau was born and raised in the Sacramento Valley. As the daughter of a Mexican immigrant and a labor advocate, Carman has understood, from a young age, the complex challenges facing immigrants. This understanding has fueled her advocacy work in college and her professional career. Carman graduated from Williams College with degrees in Arabic Studies and Political Science, and a concentration in International Relations.
During her undergraduate career, Carman interned with an immigration nonprofit. Since graduating, she has worked in boutique and international immigration firms. In her spare time, she advocates for issues of immigration, gender, and interfaith coalition-building. She comes to Social Justice Collaborative excited to continue to serve the immigrant community.
