Karla Nunez is a paralegal, working with clients to acquire visas, asylum, and submit family petitions at SJC.
She is currently completing her bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare. Karla’s interest in immigration law stems from her personal experience as an undocumented immigrant, where she witnessed the drive and passion of the immigration attorneys who supported her. Karla has personally experienced the immigration process and understands the struggles and hardship that come with the process. She wants to help others in the immigrant community and give them the opportunities she had.
Karla’s greatest accomplishment is returning to school and completing her education. It is an opportunity she did not think would be an option again. She loves spending time with her family and their new puppy, Duke.
Karla’s favorite part about working at SJC is the ability to help immigrants from all over the world, because she sympathizes with the struggles that come with living as an undocumented immigrant. The work she does to help her community is extremely rewarding, especially knowing that all of the hard work they have done has granted an individual or a family a new opportunity and second chance.
