Lissette Gomez has concentrated her legal practice in the area of U.S. Immigration Law since 1997. Having completed her Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts, Lissette has been admitted to practice as an attorney in California and before the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Before opening The Law Office of Lissette Gomez in April 2000, she practiced as an attorney with immigration law firms in San Francisco, California. Lissette is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and a mentor attorney for the San Francisco Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights Asylum Project.
Lissette earned a Bachelor’s in Science from the University of Florida where she majored in Television Production and Political Science. Before attending law school she worked as an Assistant Director at the CBS news affiliate in Washington, D.C.
Lissette was born in New Jersey, grew up in Miami, and currently lives in Oakland with her husband, daughter and two mutts. She is of Cuban descent, and is bilingual and bicultural.
