Patricia Vargas Hernandez
Patricia Vargas Hernandez is a Los Angeles transplant, UC Berkeley graduate and Gold Gate University School of Law student. She graduated from Cal with an Ethnic Studies and Chicano Studies double major and African American Studies minor. Her academic work centered around the xenophobic rhetoric used to promulgate Arizona’s 2010 Senate Bill 1070. Her organizing centered around cross-cultural work aimed at building bridges across difference. Currently, Patricia is a law student with a focus in immigration law and public interest work in general. As a woman of color and daughter of Mexican immigrants, the advocacy and empowerment of marginalized communities is very near and dear to her heart. Patricia believes hands-on experience is a very important factor in becoming an effective attorney. She is grateful to be apart of SJC and looks forward to further developing herself as a lawyer, resource, and advocate.
