NOHELI MATA

Pro bono Legal Assistant

Noheli has always been passionate about social justice issues and fostering meaningful social change in society.
She enjoys being involved in her community. She volunteers as a Law Program Facilitator for Fresh Lifelines for Youth, a nonprofit organization that works towards preventing juvenile crime and incarceration through legal education, leadership training, and one-on-one mentoring.

She also volunteers for Freedom for Immigrants, a nonprofit organization devoted to abolishing immigration detention and separation of people in a profit-driven system.

Noheli is so excited to be interning at SJC and working alongside zealous individuals because of their passion for creating a more just, inclusive, and equitable society for non-citizens, in which families can remain together and united.
