On October 21, 2021 we celebrated OUR 6TH ANNUAL GALA

America's equity and inclusion narrative is not complete without the stories of folks beyond the "immigrant" and "undocumented" labels. The evening was full of inspiration and powerful stories.

Hosted by Mariana Atencio, two of the most impactful storytellers of our time, Jose Antonio Vargas, keynote speaker, and Isabel Sandoval, interviewer and special guest, teamed up to tackle questions such as…

  • Are immigrants and refugees fleeing their countries due to circumstances that the United States has largely caused?

  • Are our immigration policies still promoting nationalism, unilateralism, and xenophobia?

  • What’s the role of the media in the demolition or perpetuation of narratives that are harmful to the collective image we have of immigrant communities?

Immigrants’ identity should not be determined by a checkbox in a form or limited to a number, a statistic, or a problem to be solved. They are the only ones who can tell us who they really are. And we must change the way we listen to their stories if we want to grow into better human beings.

Let’s make everyone listen, let’s re-significate, and finally embrace that there is not only one, but several Untold Stories of America.
