BRANDON HARDEN

INTERN

Brandon Harden (He/Him) is a 4th-year undergraduate student at the University of California at Berkeley studying political science and legal studies. His studies focus on the intersection of law and politics as tools for uplifting communities in need. He is involved in the Academic Senate at UC Berkeley, spearheading legislative efforts advocating for policies that facilitate lower barriers to receiving high-quality education at the institution.
Outside of school, Brandon serves on the board of Valley Scholars College Initiative - a nonprofit organization based in the Central Valley focused on providing high-quality mentorship, scholarship opportunities, and internship experiences for low-income students in the Central Valley. He also works for the Truth Initiative - a national nonprofit organization focused on eliminating the use of tobacco products across the county. Brandon hosts workshops for high school students and administrators at educational institutions regarding tobacco use and training youth advocates to pass local policies regulating tobacco products. Brandon is also an intern at Stanford University Medical Center, conducting research into the impacts of predatory tobacco advertising.
Brandon is looking forward to learning more about the immigration system in the United States and how best to provide assistance and advocate for immigrants. He is also looking forward to working alongside passionate individuals that share his love of helping others.
