Briseida Villalobos

Intern, Volunteer

Briseida is a fourth-year student at San Jose State University. She is studying Justice Studies, Psychology, and Chicano Studies. She is a first-generation college student, and after receiving her bachelor’s degree, she hopes to pursue law school.

Briseida is one of the many fortunate DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) recipients. She had to learn to navigate the U.S. immigration system at a young age for this purpose. As a result, her experience inspired her to help others who find themselves lost and vulnerable due to their immigration status.

Through her internship at Social Justice Collaborative, Briseida hopes to acquire a profound knowledge of the immigration process so that she may be able to best assist those vulnerable.

Outside of school, she enjoys volunteering at her local Sacred Heart Community Center, helping low-income families access available resources. She enjoys partaking in DIY projects and spending time with her family in her free time.
