SIJS Task Force
Dedicated legal representation for immigrant youth.
What is Special Immigrant Juvenile Status?
Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) is a type of immigration relief for minors who have been neglected, abused, or abandoned by one or both parents. SJC's Juvenile Immigration Task Force aims to help 100 young immigrants under 21 apply for this status at no cost.
Who Benefits?
The program targets unaccompanied children who experienced neglect, abuse, or abandonment and arrived in the U.S. alone. SJC is the only organization with a dedicated unit for SIJS legal representation in the Bay Area.
Pro Bono Opportunities
Legal professionals can join SIJS clinics. Legal teams are given adequate training and CLE credit. The time commitment to fill out the forms is only one day.
